Sea For Society 3rd Consortium and 2nd Steering Committee Meeting
The 3rd Consortium Meeting and the 2nd Steering Committee Meeting of the Sea For Society (SFS) project took place at the Knowledge Pavilion (Lisbon, Portugal) between 30th September and 3rd October, 2013.

The SFS Consortium got together in Lisbon, Portugal on October 1st and 2nd for its 3rd Consortium Meeting. The meeting, held in the Knowledge Pavilion and hosted by the SFS partner Ciência Viva, focused on the successful results of the undertaken consultation forums with presentations from each Geographical Area Leader. The consortium also started to prepare the next phase of the project, the mobilization phase that will empower actors on societal issues related to Ocean.

The 2nd Steering Committee Meeting of the project took place back to back with the SFS Consortium meeting on 30th September and 3rd October, 2013.

In the afternoon of October 1st the SFS project organised an Open Session with high profile speakers. The first panel of speakers shared with the consortium partners and civil society members they views on the relevance of the Sea For Society project, the relevance of the Blue Society concept and its linkage with a Blue Economy. The second panel of speakers shared with the audience successful mobilisation stories of researchers, companies, governments, local authorities and the general public in Portugal and at international level.
