[EVENT] 1st International Conference: Tourism in Coastal Areas – Opportunities and Challenges
23 -24 October 2014

The 1st International Conference in Tourism in Coastal Areas – Opportunities and Challenges, of University of Aveiro, will take place on 23rd and 24th october 2014. The Conference aims to promote a fruitful debate about the principal challenges of tourism in coastal areas, focused on innovative approaches that seek for the equilibrium between the economic activity that generates richness, the maintenance of local traditions and cultures and the preservation and conservation of coastal and marine environments. This will be the first of several meetings that are pretending to be realized in the University of Aveiro, aiming to assemble interested researchers in the mentioned issues.

The conference accepts extended abstracts (deadline submission: September, 15th) in areas such:

  • Public policies, tourism planning, governance, coastal zones management and strategies
  • Sustainable development, land uses and natural resources
  • Tourism value chain, segmentation and its interface with natural, sociocultural and architectonic patrimony
  • Infrastructures, equipment's and urban design of touristic areas in coastal zones

 All extended abstracts are subject to double-blind review. A selected set of extended abstracts will be designated for being published in peer-reviewed journals.

 

The official languages of the conference are Portuguese and English.
