AquaTT is a not for profit company set up in 1992 to support the development of a sustainable Marine sector. AquaTT's mission is to bridge the knowledge gap between the dynamic R&D environments and the progressive commercial sector to help create sustainable European solutions to societal challenges.

The Europe 2020 Flagship Initiative Innovation Union (COM (2010) 546 final) specifies that "Genuinely open innovation requires brokerage, intermediaries and networks in which all players can participate on an equal basis..." For more than 18 years, AquaTT has been a key partner in EC-financed projects. In research projects AquaTT aspires to work with research leaders who can generate new knowledge and convert it into practical solutions to help sustain Europe into the future. In parallel to our work supporting research, AquaTT has a long track record in the field of education, training and lifelong learning, informing strategies, development new methods and creating networks to exchange best practice.

AquaTT has been managing the Socrates Erasmus Academic network, Aqua-tnet since 1996 covering the topics of Aquaculture, Fisheries and Aquatic Resource management and currently has over 70 higher education institutes and over 40 stakeholder representatives.
