A network of 20 interactive Science Centres has been created throughout the country, in collaboration with universities and local authorities. Ciência Viva is a private non-profit association of leading Portuguese research institutes and the national science funding body (FCT). Ciência Viva is the official representative of the Ministry of Science Technology and Higher Education for science education and public awareness of science.
