Sea For Society on the move! – Pre-mobilisation activities

 

   Sea For Society summer activities in Portugal as part of Ciência Viva’s “Science in Summer” programme
[22 July 2014] The Sea For Society summer activities in Portugal were launched last Wednesday, June 16th in Peniche, by Ciência Viva. Among all Ciência Viva’s “Science in Summer” activities, two were developed in scope of the Sea For Society project: a series of meetings entitled "Encontros Frente ao Mar" and the guide "The most popular species of the Portuguese sea".
     

  Tackling barriers identified from the SFS Consultation Forums
[16 July 2014] At the beginning of July the Marine Institute and Galway Atlantaquaria tackled one of the barriers found from the analysis of the results of the SFS Consultation Forums across 9 EUR countries by introducing teachers to their local seashore, using it as a unique teaching resource.
     

  Sea For Society project involved in a project to educate youngsters about the sciences of the world's oceans
[20 June 2014] The Sea For Society project, through its partners Ciência Viva and IST MARETEC, among other Portuguese entities, participated in the re-launching of the CHARGER boat developed in scope of an USA project to educate youngsters about the sciences of the world's oceans.

   Sea For Society Pre-Consensus Workshop – a successful meeting in Ostend
[19 June 2014] The 4th Consortium Meeting of the Sea For Society (SFS) project took place at the Flanders Marine Institute (VLIZ) (Ostend, Belgium) on 16 and 17th June, 2014.

Sea For Society and the Blue Society concept at the Ecsite Annual Conference 2014

[30 May 2014] The Sea For Society and the Blue Society concept were referred in three sessions at the last Ecsite Annual Conference.
     
  Sea For Society and the Blue Society concept at the European Maritime Day 2014

[22 May 2014] The Sea For Society booth at the European Maritime 2014 was a success. In addition the project was referred in the two days of the event by speakers at different sessions!
