At the beginning of July the Marine Institute and Galway Atlantaquaria tackled one of the barriers found from the analysis of the results of the SFS Consultation Forums across 9 EU countries by introducing teachers to their local seashore, using it as a unique teaching resource.

A new TV series exploring the wonderful and diverse creatures that live in the seas around Ireland counts with the participation of the Marine Institute, a Sea For Society partner, creating awareness of society to this valuable and unique resource. The series begins on Sunday June 22nd at 6:30pm (GMT+01:00) on the Irish TV channel RTÉ One and runs for four weeks.

The first session of citizen/youth consultations in France took place on May the 15th at Nausicaá, the National Sea Center in Boulogne-sur-Mer (the country's largest fishing port and first town for the transformation of sea products). It gathered 16 enthusiastic participants aged from 18 to 28, coming from different maritime and non-maritime regions from all over France.
